The rear suspensions of biturbo, Ghibli and Quattroporte IV are similar.
Let's see if they could be inter-changed.
Bi-turbo suspensions did not have anti-roll bar and were using Sensitork and Ranger
diffs.
Early non-ABS Ghibli suspensions were equipped with an anti-roll bar.
Later ABS Ghibli and Shamal were using Ranger diff and tubular arms.
Last Ghibli and QP4 rear suspensions had tubular arms and Ferrari (ZF) diff (the same
as on 3200GT).
QP4 v8 frame/diff + 430 rear arm and shaft (QP4 arms are longer, see pictures below).
Everything matches.
The distance between frame front huge mounting points and the rear top points is 74cm
in straight line. I'm getting 73cm for this distance on the original 430 frame+diff setup (below).
This is how the original 430 frame is.
The connection to the main shaft is 32cm closer to the gearbox (see below for shaft comparison).
QP4 v8 and biturbo rear diff to wheel shafts. QP4 one is much longer, the rear of the car is much wider.
The other QP4 rear arm.
QP4 v8 and 430 rear brake discs. The v8 one is vented.
It's funny to note that rear calipers are actually Alfa Romeo 75
Brembo ones, just painted to look "Maserati".
QP4 v8 front and rear brake discs. Would you be able to tell which one is on front ?
QP4 v8 and biturbo main transmission shafts, first section (to gearbox).
The are the same length and same connections.
QP4 v8 and biturbo main transmission shafts, second section (to diff).
QP4 one is 35cm longer, same connections on both sides.
